White Water Kayaking in Europe - June 09

Spent two weeks on the road paddling new rivers in Switzerland, Italy and France. A great road trip living out of the van and discovering new venues for possible commercial trips in the future. Switzerland offers great grade 3+ rivers for the progressive white water paddler and trains can be used as shuttles. Paddled the Verdon and Ubaye on the way to Briancon to meet my clients for a week of white water paddling. We stayed in gite accommodation, ensuite, freshly prepared local produce each day and great rivers to paddle each day.

Next year International Coaching & Guiding are offering three white water kayaking trips:

March - Pyrenees

June - Alps

August - Slovenia

Isles of Scilly Crossing - May 09

After 6 hours me and good friend Nick Arding paddled from Sennen to the Isles of Scilley. On leaving the safety of Sennen harbour we made our way towards Longships, and for people who paddle around this part of the coastline know it can be slightly intimidating. The tide was running and large waves formed all around the lighthouse. After passing longships the seas calmed down and made a really comfortable crossing. Once on the Island we booked our ferry back and popped to the pub for a well earned pints.

Will be back in September to spend more time exploring these beautiful islands.

Cornwall Sea Kayaking & Climbing - April 09

Took advantage of the good weather and sea conditions to drive down to Cornwall and discover the coastline and even bag a climb or two at Bosigran and Roche Rocks.
